How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account in two ways:

Option 1 — In-App (Recommended)

1. Open BhaiFinder
2. Tap You (bottom navigation, last tab)
3. Tap Settings
4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
5. Read the confirmation screen and tap Yes, delete my account
6. Your account enters a 30-day grace period (see below)

Option 2 — Email Request

If you cannot access the app, email hello@bhaifinder.com from your registered email address with the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"

Include:

• Your registered email address
• Reason for deletion (optional)

We will process your request within 7 business days.

What Happens After You Request Deletion

Immediate (Day 0)

• Your account is marked for deletion
• You can no longer log in with this account
• If you have an active paid subscription, it is cancelled — you will not be charged again

Grace Period (Days 1–30)

• A 30-day recovery window begins
• You can recover your account by emailing hello@bhaifinder.com within this period
• During this period, your data is not accessible but is not yet permanently deleted
• If you had a paid subscription, you retain access until the end of your billing period

Permanent Deletion (Day 30)

The following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted:

• Your name and email address
• Password hash
• All saved items (links, photos, texts, visiting cards, PDFs)
• All categories (custom and system associations)
• All reminders
• All AI-generated context, tags, and categorisations
• Push notification tokens
• User preferences and settings
• Usage statistics tied to your account

Data We Retain After Deletion

Some data must be retained for legal and financial compliance:

Subscription history	7 years	Financial audit trail
Razorpay transaction IDs	7 years	Payment dispute resolution
Anonymised analytics	Indefinitely	Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics only
Legal/compliance records	As required by law	If subject to a court order or legal process

Retained financial records contain only transactional metadata (amount, date, plan, subscription ID). They do not contain your saved content, reminders, or personal memories.

Data Stored by Third Parties

Some data may be held by our service providers. Deleting your BhaiFinder account does not automatically delete data held by:

Google Firebase	Anonymised analytics events, FCM tokens	FCM tokens are deleted from our system on account deletion
AWS S3	Uploaded photos and PDFs	Deleted from our S3 bucket within 30 days of account deletion
MongoDB Atlas	All user data	Deleted on day 30 of grace period

Partial Data Deletion (Without Account Deletion)

You can delete individual saved items without deleting your account:

• Delete a single save: Open the item → Tap the trash icon → Confirm
• Delete a reminder: Nudges tab → Swipe to delete or tap delete icon
• Delete a custom category: Profile → Edit Categories → Delete

These actions are immediate and permanent.
